Daniel Brown,OGUK
(Chairman of the Society Board)

Daniel is the Data and Digital lead for OGUK, the representative body for the UK offshore energy industries. He is chief executive of OGUK's two subsidiaries - CDA, and LOGIC - which have delivered data and digital services to industry for more than two decades - and is the Chair of the Society for Professional Data Managers (SPDM). He has been working in data and information since 1998, and in oil and gas since 2004.

Stephan Gruijters, TNO
(Deputy Chair of the Society Board)

Trained as an engineer, Stephan started at TNO - Geological Survey of the Netherlands in 2000, after almost 10 years of project management in consultancy. He is involved in projects aimed at creating geo-information used in soil, groundwater and mineral resource management, risk assessments and spatial planning. In 2002 he moved into (international) projects on data management, data dissemination and standardization. Since 2009 he has been is involved in the transition of the Dutch NDR to a fully automated, web service based system for upload, storing and download of all subsurface data in the Netherlands.

Lars Gåseby, Shell
Lars is working in Shell as a Principal Data Management Technology Advisor. He has 25+ years of experience from the EP business, most time spend in Schlumberger, ConocoPhillips and Shell. His theoretical background is a Master Degree in hardware engineering. In addition to his Shell work he is involved in various ECIM activities (see www.ecim.no) and holds a board position in the organization.

Mark Rae, Shell

Mark works in Shell as the Manger for Integration and Seismic Data and also acts as the Global Governance Lead for Technical Information and Data Community of Practice. He has 20 years of experience in petroleum data management, and since joining Shell has held a variety of roles covering most of the data spectrum. Most recently, Mark had a very enjoyable posting to Brunei Shell Petroleum where he developed local petroleum data management capability and implemented a sustainable data management organisation. He is currently focused in leading a strategic global program to improve data management, tools and processes for Shell Exploration. Mark holds a BSc degree in Geology and Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen.

Jane Hodson, North Sea Transition Authority

Jane is a highly experienced Subsurface Technology and Data Management Subject Matter Expert with over 30+ years in the industry. Although she started in the Merchant Navy (training as an electronic engineer) a complete change in her career found her transferring to the oil industry in 1984 with BP in the Petroleum Engineering Department and so began her indoctrination into subsurface data management. Initially in BP then CNR, Centrica and Premier Oil. Her current position is Senior Licensing Manager at the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) and mentoring a new generation of data managers.

Kerry Blinston, OASIS Group

Kerry holds a degree in Geological Sciences from Leeds University and a masters in Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen. He commenced his career as a sedimentologist working for Robertson Research. Advancing into various business development and managerial roles Kerry now manages the Smart Data Solutions team, acquired by OASIS Group in January 2022. As an active member of the international petroleum data management community he has been part of the organising committee for the NDR conference, sits on the advisory group for the RGU Graduate Certificate in Petroleum Data Management and, during 2020 co-lead the Data Security, Entitlements and Obligations team working on the Open Subsurface Data Universe initiative.

Khusal Adlakha, Pro Well Plan

Khushal is working as a Data Scientist solving oil and gas upstream use cases with a data-driven approach and machine learning. In Pro Well Plan, he is responsible for data science and data analytics related activities for product development, executing and presenting consulting projects to clients involving data analytics and machine learning. He holds a MSc in Petroleum Geosciences Engineering from University of Stavanger(2016-2018), Norway and Bachelor's in Petroleum Geosciences Engineering from UPES (2010-2014), India. Prior to completing his Master’s, he worked as an Associate Consultant in the Energy and Natural Utilities Department for Wipro Technologies, in India.

Alan smith, Luchelan

Alan graduated as a geophysicist and spent time working on exploration and production projects globally for BP. After leaving BP he helped set up Paras Limited, one of the first boutique consultancies to specialise in data and information management. Alan was instrumental in setting up CDA in the UK and worked on several other national data repositories around the world. He has worked across the industry for multiple E&P companies and contractors and has held interim management positions including CIO. His more recent roles have included helping move companies to use cloud technologies for storing and using their data. All his work has been based around the need to define and adhere to agreed standards and to learn from others.

Ellen Marie Skartveit, NPD

Ellen has worked at the NPD since 2013 and has an Masters degree in Criminology from the University of Oslo with specialization in “Norwegian control strategies of industries”. She has many years of experience in the monitoring of seismic activities (permitting) on the NCS, including communicating and coordinating with the Directorate of Fisheries, Ministry of Defence, and the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research. She is currently the leader of the NPD’s Data Management team “Sokkeldata”.

Patricia Herrera Torres, Independant

Patricia is an experienced and versatile subsurface data management consultant with more than 25 years of experience in this field and in leading small/medium teams and IM/IT-related projects. Her last six years in Shell, she was leading a team of technical data & workflow managers, working for Exploration, Field Development and Production. Additionally, in the role of Global Learning Advisor, she has led the development of the curriculum and the content for the Technical Data Management (TDM) Discipline. Currently she enjoys mentoring in technical data management and career development.
