Lars Gåseby, Shell (Chairman of the Society)

Lars is working in Shell as a Principal Data Management Technology Advisor. He has 25+ years of experience from the EP business, most time spend in Schlumberger, ConocoPhillips and Shell. His theoretical background is a Master Degree in hardware engineering. In addition to his Shell work he is involved in various ECIM activities (see www.ecim.no) and holds a board position in the organization.

Sakthi Norton, CDA
Following a Master’s degree in Information Management, Sakthi commenced her data management career with an independent oil and gas operator, then joined CDA in 2013 as a Data Manager in Aberdeen. Working within a wide range of collaborative data management services, she currently leads industry-academia projects supporting the development of Petroleum Data Management education at the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University.

Stephan Gruijters, TNO
Trained as an engineer, Stephan started at TNO - Geological Survey of the Netherlands in 2000, after almost 10 years of project management in consultancy. He is involved in projects aimed at creating geo-information used in soil, groundwater and mineral resource management, risk assessments and spatial planning. In 2002 he moved into (international) projects on data management, data dissemination and standardization. Since 2009 he has been is involved in the transition of the Dutch NDR to a fully automated, web service based system for upload, storing and download of all subsurface data in the Netherlands.

Malcolm Fleming, CDA
Malcolm has worked in oil and gas data management for more than 40 years. As Chief Executive since 1998, Malcolm has established CDA’s UKOilandGasData.com platform as the default resource for UK offshore well, seismic and related information. He has also been leading an industry campaign to professionalise petroleum data management, and was instrumental in creating education opportunities in this subject. Malcolm was the principal architect behind the new provisions for the management of petroleum-related information and samples in the Energy Act 2016 and was awarded an MBE in 2004 for services to the oil industry.

Karina Schmidt, Wintershall
A geologist (MSc) by training, Karina joined Wintershall in Kassel in 1999 and has since worked in exploration data management. Her focus has been on data flow process analysis and system implementation, with a special interest in Geographical Information Systems and spatial data integration ever since working in the industry. Since 2008 Karina has been involved in various ECIM activities.

Reidar Kalvig, ECIM
Reidar is the chairman and secretary of Stiftelsen ECIM. He has been a part of ECIM since the early planning and concept building phase. The first conference held by ECIM was in 2004 with focus on 'Value creation and data management'. The same year ECIM was given a leading role in the continuation of the User Group meeting in Haugesund that had been going on for 8 years at that time. This conference is now established as the main annual European E&P IM and Data Management Conference.

Niall Webster, BP
Niall has over 30 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry working with BP Exploration in Aberdeen. His career began as a Subsurface Technologist before progressing to become a Geophysicist, where he has worked on most of BP’s Fields in the North Sea Region. In 2016 Niall changed role to become the North Sea Region’s Subsurface & Wells Information Manager (SIM), overseeing the management of BP's subsurface/wells data and information management practices in Aberdeen. He has served on the Board of CDA since 2017.
