Henri Blondelle, CSO and co-founder, Agile Data Decisions

Henri is a geologist by education. He started his professional career in the 80’s at the early days of the geoscience workstation development with BP then with CGG-Petrosystems.

Henri is one of the co-founder of Agile Data Decisions, an innovative company developing a complete AI platform to capture information from technical documents at scale.

Professor Simon Burnett, Professor of Information Management, School of Creative and Cultural Business, Robert Gordon University

Simon Burnett is Professor of Information Management in the School of Creative and Cultural Business at Robert Gordon University. Prior to his academic career, Simon worked in the oil and gas industry designing and implementing online information systems. Simon was director of the RGU Centre for Knowledge Management from 2000-2008, providing KM-related research and consultancy services to a range of public and private sector clients including the United Nations, BP and the NHS, amongst others. He was Associate Director (External) of the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science from 2013-2016. In 2020, he was awarded a KTP with Dean's of Huntly.

Fionnuala Cousins, Lecturer in Information Management, School of Creative and Cultural Business, Robert Gordon University

Fionnuala is a lecturer in Information Management in the School of Creative and Cultural Business at Robert Gordon University. She specialises in industrial data management, particularly in but not limited to the energy sector. Prior to her academic career she worked in oil and gas data and information management for a service company and as a KTP Associate working to establish an industrial community of information managers in oil and gas.

She is currently the lead for courses in Energy Data Management, Petroleum Data Management, Subsurface Data Management and Document Control.

Jamie Cruise, Head of Products- Data, Schlumberger

Jamie Cruise is the Head of Products for Data Management at Schlumberger.  Jamie has over 25 years’ experience in delivering transformative solutions for upstream data management for both corporate and government clients.



Håvard Gustad, Specialist IM, Equinor

Håvard Gustad - Specialist Data Management in Geospatial Governance and Solution in Equinor. Håvard is managing project for building enterprise data platform capabilities enabling geospatial Data Products and computing using agile methods and human centric design. He holds a master’s degree in computer science and has more than 15 years of experience from the oil & gas and energy industry, working with project management both in digitalization and offshore operations and maintenance.

Lee Hatfield, Senior IM Consultant, Flare Solutions

Lee is a senior consultant with Flare Solutions. Lee started in the E&P industry in 2001 and has undertaken a number of roles with Schlumberger, Paras, BG Group and since 2014, Flare Solutions. During my time at Flare, I have completed projects covering standards development, huge data migrations, taxonomy and data tagging, Information Management training, developing Digital strategies and working with regulators to enhance data quality.

Jess Kozman, Senior Principal Consultant – Southeast Asia, Katalyst Data Management

Jess Kozman has recently started in a position as Senior Principal Consultant for Southeast Asia at Katalyst Data Management in Perth, Western Australia, after finishing a four year fixed term contract with Woodside Energy. The year he started in the oil industry, commodity prices peaked at inflation adjusted USD$110 per barrel, Tim Berners-Lee at CERN created a networked hypertext system that could be read by computers, and the first hard disk drive for microcomputers stored 5 megabytes. Since then he has worked his way through exploration geophysics, IT management, and petro-technical advisor roles, worked with data from all the largest oil companies on the planet, most National Oil Companies, and government agencies responsible for geotechnical data both on and off-planet. He is involved with STEM K-12 outreach and introducing digital natives to field geology.

Dr. Leila Belabbassi, Lecturer, Texas A&M University

Dr. Leila Belabbassi currently serves as a Lecturer for an online Master of Geosciences program in the College of Geosciences at Texas A&M University. She teaches classes in two of the program’s tracks: the Petroleum Data Management track and the Ocean Data Science track.

Previously, Dr. Leila Belabbassi worked for GCOOS, the Gulf of Mexico Ocean Observing System, and OOI, the Ocean Observing Initiative Program, performing the duties of a Data Scientist/Data Manager and taking a leadership role to supervise a small group of Data Evaluators. Dr. Belabbassi have also served as a Staff Scientist to direct research activities and create a data quality protocol for ocean observatories systems in the northwestern Indian Ocean.

Dr. Leila Belabbassi is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She earned both her M.S. and Ph.D. studying the impact of Loop Current Eddies and Mississippi River Discharges on the local oceanography of the northern Gulf of Mexico.

Having more than 2 decades experience in the data domain Dr. Leila Belabbassi is taking the teaching role as a mean to help train a data savvy workforce that understands that the data management task is neither easy nor simple, but it is possible with a lot of dedication and uncompromising commitment to excellence.

Jill Lewis, Managing Director and CEO, Troika International Ltd.

Voluntary post: Past Chair, Vice Chair, Sub-Committee Chair SEG Technical Standards Committee, liaison with Energistics and IOGP.

As Managing Director and CEO of Troika International Ltd, Jill has developed a new approach to data management and provided the industry with the ability to automate contract and format compliance.

Led the ratification of SEGY Rev 1, SEGD 2.1, SEG-D_3, SEG-D_3.1 and SEG-Y_2

Dave Mackinnon, Technology Leadership Board

Dave began his graduate career in 1993 working offshore as a Pipeline and Process Commissioning Engineer for NOWSCO. By 2001 he was Senior Process Engineer on the ExxonMobil Beryl Field, moving to Lundin Petroleum in 2004 progressing into Development Engineering. Dave joined TOTAL E&P UK in 2009 as the West of Shetland, Lead Development Engineer. Laggan-Tormore sanction followed, with initiation of Edradour and Glenlivet developments, along with the role of Head of Corporate Planning. 2011, saw Dave move to Paris as a Petroleum Architect assessing Shale Gas and Deepwater FPSO opportunities, before leading the Petronas - K5, High CO2 Concept Selection Project. 2013 brought a transition to New Business, as Project Director for East Africa.

Dave was appointed Head of Technological Innovation in 2016, building upon TEPUK’s commitment to an emerging UK Technology Landscape, focused primarily to RAS (Robotic and Autonomous Systems) with the evolution of a recognised robotics program.

More recently he spent 18months seconded to the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) as Technology Advisor, supporting the Technology Leadership Board (TLB).

In 2021 Dave returned to TotalEnergies as Technology & Innovation Manger, a member of the TLB, ORCA ILOP Chair and OLTER Steering Committee.

Gunnar Staff, Production Optimization - Industry Solutions, Cognite

Gunnar is the head of Technical Consulting at Cognite, leading the technical discussions with all of Cognite’s Oil & Gas clients. Gunnar joined Cognite in 2018 where he built up the Production Optimisation team, delivering a wide range of data science related optimisation solutions. Prior to that he worked in SPTGroup and Schlumberger developing the multiphase pipe flow simulator OLGA, responsible for development of the core physics model, performing uncertainty and optimisation studies.

Gunnar holds a PhD in applied mathematics from Simula Research Laboratory/University of Oslo.

Jørn Ølmheim, Enterprise Data Architect, Equinor

Jørn Ølmheim – Leading Advisor Data Architecture in Equinor. Responsible for the Enterprise data architecture in the company. Software developer with strong background in agile methods and human centric design. Holds a master’s degree in computer science. Jørn has more than 20 years of experience working with software development in different capacities, the later years focusing on overall software and data architecture. Jørn is also an acknowledged conference speaker with talks at several international conferences.

Sun Maria Lehmann, Leading Engineer Enterprise Data Management, Equinor.

Sun uses applied Human Centric Design and Design Thinking methods to incubate, mature and build Data Products. Holds a master’s in petroleum geoscience with focus on data and data modelling. Sun has been working with data management for more than 22 years with a combination of experiences from hydrographic mapping, oil&gas and energy industry.

Robert Swiergon, Technical Data Manager, The Oil & Gas Authority

Robert is the Technical Data Manager at the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA). Robert’s role involves ensuring data is reported to the OGA on time and in the correct form and manner, which in turn allows that data to be disclosed publicly.

Robert graduated from The University of Aberdeen in Geology & Petroleum Geology and held a role with a small subsurface data company before joining the OGA in 2019. His role at the OGA covers a wide array of data types and reporting requirements.

Joshua Ukoha, Technical Data Management and Workflow Lead, Shell

Joshua is a well-rounded E&P Professional with 25 years’ experience in Subsurface & Wells IT, Information Technology and Well Engineering disciplines. A graduate of Computer Science in his First Degree with an MBA in Project Management, Joshua has consistently demonstrated mastery in data management, technology deployment, contracting, business interface/integration, information management, strategy development/implementation, and project management.

He has over 17 years of leadership experience in the oil and gas industry and is currently at the verge of completing his Doctorate in Project Management, in addition to his already acquired Project Management Certification (PMP).

He is currently leading Shell’s Technical Data Management and Workflow team in Nigeria, enabling the business to unlock value through development and deployment of digital technologies across Subsurface and Wells functions.

Michael van der Haven, Director Consulting Expert, CGI

As Director Consulting Expert in Oil and Gas, Michaël takes the lead in tackling IT, Integration and Domain challenges in Oil and Gas for CGI and CGI’s customers. The past 15+ years have been spent as a Solution Architect building various massive data and integration platforms for the Oil and Gas industries. Making mistakes, celebrating success and backed by not just an IT, but also a domain based Reservoir Engineering background. In the last few years this has culminated in a very active contribution to the OSDU forum and the development of CGI’s Pivot: a Platform as a Service Solution based on the emerging standards for OSDU.

Siti Zubaidah Abu Bakar, Technical Data Analyst, Repsol

Zubai Abu Bakar is a graduate of Bachelor of Tech. (Hons) in Info & Communications Technology from University Technology Petronas & Petroleum Data Management from Robert Gordon University. Initially based in Kuala Lumpur and working on a variety of tasks and projects throughout the years. She is currently the Technical Data Analyst in Repsol. Much of her recent work has involved the development & coordination of E&P Data Management & Project Management delivery. Apart from that, she is actively involved in few volunteering programs globally, mainly on advocating the professional development for Petroleum Data Managers and mentoring the local university students.
