Elections to the Board of the SPDM for 2021

Standing for election to the Board of the Society for 2021:

Mark Rae, Shell
(NEW - for election for 2 years)

Mark works in Shell as the Chief Data Officer for Exploration and also acts as the Global Discipline Lead for Technical Information and Data. He has 20 years of experience in petroleum data management, and since joining Shell has held a variety of roles covering most of the data spectrum. Most recently, Mark had a very enjoyable posting to Brunei Shell Petroleum where he developed local petroleum data management capability and implemented a sustainable data management organisation. He is currently focused in leading a strategic global program to improve data management, tools and processes for Shell Exploration. Mark holds a BSc degree in Geology and Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen.

Stephan Gruijters, TNO
(Re-election for 2 years)

Trained as an engineer, Stephan started at TNO - Geological Survey of the Netherlands in 2000, after almost 10 years of project management in consultancy. He is involved in projects aimed at creating geo-information used in soil, groundwater and mineral resource management, risk assessments and spatial planning. In 2002 he moved into (international) projects on data management, data dissemination and standardization. Since 2009 he has been is involved in the transition of the Dutch NDR to a fully automated, web service based system for upload, storing and download of all subsurface data in the Netherlands.

Kerry Blinston, CGG
(Re-election for 2 years)

Kerry holds a degree in Geological Sciences from Leeds University and a masters in Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen. He commenced his career as a sedimentologist working for Robertson Research. Advancing into various business development and managerial roles Kerry now manages CGG’s global data management business line as VP Smart Data Solutions, having joined the data management group in 2007. As an active member of the international petroleum data management community he has been part of the organising committee for the NDR conference, sits on the advisory group for the RGU Graduate Certificate in Petroleum Data Management is currently co-leading the Data Security, Entitlements and Obligations team for Open Subsurface Data Universe.

Khusal Adlakha, Pro Well Plan
(Re-election as Deputy for 2 years)

Khushal is working as a Data Scientist solving oil and gas upstream use cases with a data-driven approach and machine learning. In Pro Well Plan, he is responsible for data science and data analytics related activities for product development, executing and presenting consulting projects to clients involving data analytics and machine learning. He holds a MSc in Petroleum Geosciences Engineering from University of Stavanger(2016-2018), Norway and Bachelor's in Petroleum Geosciences Engineering from UPES (2010-2014), India. Prior to completing his Master’s, he worked as an Associate Consultant in the Energy and Natural Utilities Department for Wipro Technologies, in India.

Daniel Brown, Common Data Access Ltd
(Chairman of the Society Board)

Daniel joined Common Data Access Limited (CDA) in 2014, working with UK Licensees and with the Oil and Gas Authority to implement the new UK legal regime for the retention, reporting, and disclosure of information and physical samples. This culminated in the launch of the UK NDR, operated by CDA, in March 2019. Daniel has been working in data and information since 1998, and in oil and gas since 2004.

Lars Gåseby, Shell
Lars is working in Shell as a Principal Data Management Technology Advisor. He has 25+ years of experience from the EP business, most time spend in Schlumberger, ConocoPhillips and Shell. His theoretical background is a Master Degree in hardware engineering. In addition to his Shell work he is involved in various ECIM activities (see www.ecim.no) and holds a board position in the organization.

Jane Hodson, Premier Oil
Jane is a highly experienced Subsurface Technology and Data Management Subject Matter Expert with over 30+ years in the industry. Although she started in the Merchant Navy (as a Radio Officer) a complete change in her career found her transferring to the oil industry in 1984 with BP in the Petroleum Engineering Department and so began her indoctrination into subsurface data management. Initially in BP then onto CNR, Centrica and now Premier Oil. She is currently sitting on the NDR Advisory Committee and also mentoring a new generation of petroleum data managers.

Elisabeth Hegle, Spirit Energy
Elisabeth is working at Spirit Energy as a Data Manager. She has been working in the Oil & Gas industry since 1990, with different aspects of Data Management. Most time spend in Wintershall Norge AS and Capricorn Norge AS. She is educated in land surveying and map drawing and started her career as data processor in Stolt Comex Seaway. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Information Studies and in 2017, she completed a MSC Information Management at RGU. Elisabeth are a Diskos MC representative and have also been Diskos SG representative, Oil Scout representative and leader of the ECIM Education WG. In her spare time, she works as a volunteer with traffic safety for NAF.

Fionnuala Cousins, Robert Gordon University
Fionnuala is a lecturer in the Information Management group at Robert Gordon University (RGU), specializing in industrial data and information and leading the development and delivery of the Graduate Certificate Petroleum Data Management. Prior to this she working in industry, particularly topside information management. She started her industrial data and information management career on a partnership project between RGU and a Scottish service company.
